4 bolts to loose the ac compressor and all the ac pipe are easy to loose. lose two long botls from fire wall at pseenger side and remove ac harness connector behind passenger head light. remove ac dryer/receiver behind driver side head light.and remove ac evaporator behind glove compartment. and u are done

First off, remember the AC system might be under high pressure. So relief the pressure either by removing the needle in the charge pipes, using an AC manifold to safely remove the pressure, or you'll get a big suprise when you try to open the system up and the pressure explode in your face.

have you done it personally? have pictures by chance? Your talking like i'm a mechanic...whats a charge pipe? I seriously doubt it's that easy as removing a few bolts. I know there is some kind of pressure and coolant which can do damage. More or less I don't even know what they look like...

If you are not mechanically inclined, maybe you shouldn't attempt to remove the A/C system by yourself. It's not easy if you don't even know what the parts look like. That being said, you need to get yourself a Honda Helms service manual if you want step by step detailed instructions with pics.

just make sure the ac doesnt blow in your face like I did.. LOL its pretty scary but nothing happened. make sure to let out the pressure then everything is all mechanical. Just unscrew bolts that lead to the ac. they are 10mm bolts

its definatly not hard BUT i would highly sugest unbolting the parts done just cut the lines! the parts are worth some cash if they are not damaged! i myself need a ac front condensor to replace my damaged one.

taking the top line off the ac condensor i believe is the easiest way to releave the pressure. simply wrap some old rags or old towel around the hose, and put some sunglasses on and just remove the bolt and pull the line off. ya dont want that stuff to get in your eyes! and dont breath it either, so just hold your breath

WHY???????????

Are you doing this for "horsepower gains"? The A/C is only a drag when its ON! (LIGHTBULB!)

You like defrost in the winter? The A/C removes the moisture that builds on your window in the cold, good luck removing that with just heat, A/C also dehumidifies.

Your decision doesn't make any sense, if its a POS, just get rid of it. Removing the A/C only makes that fact more so.

I am not pro-EPA. but you run several risks to your health if you breath it in. Not to mention legal consequences if your system have dye in it, and someone rats you out, and they see an engine bay full of neon oil. Takes a LOT of cleaning to get it off, like blood, it is designed to soak into everything.

die color.LOL just wash it off if there is anything.... plus the engine bay is usualy dirty so it shouldnt soak in to fast
the weight issue is BS IMO. if you dont like the draw on the motor then just take the belt off the compressor. no more engine drag and you can throw it back on for winter defrosting.
i myself love AC. i need it summer and winter!

And if you take more than a few seconds to look at it, you can figure out what has to be done.

I'm not the thread maker. Are you talking to me? I just ask about the POS. Don't know what you talking about when you said if I look at it long enough I'll know what has to be done.

Easy guys, dang so hostile. Something is wrong with the AC...and for you guys trying to convince me to not do it...you don't live in california. And the weather is good enough all year around so it really doesn/t matter that much. Slowcivic2k...you live in a cold climate....i would keep my ac then. But i'm turning this coupe into a track car. It 's not needed and i'm stripping everything. It wont be my DD.

I know that I need to be careful about the pressure. I guess I was looking to see if anyone knew the right instructions but I guess ill just have to get a manual. Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I would keep my A/C regardless of climate. If you are serious about removing it you will need to have it evacuated of refrigerant. After thats done, pull everything out. Since your "gutting" the car, everything should be easily accessible. Just trace the lines, and pull everything that connects to them.

Relieving the pressure on an A/C system can be very dangerous. It will cause frostbite on contact, and possible tissue damage, especially the eyes. It is also illegal to vent, just bear that in mind when your working on the system.

The only tricky part is the evaporator. Its behind the glove box, and if your planning on keeping the dash, you'll have to take it apart to get it out.

Its behind the glove box? Damn this sounds like a shitty operation haha. More or less fairly dangerous.
