Default B18C motor, type R or jdm GSR, or is that the same thing???

Hi all. So, I just picked up a short block that is stamped as a b18c. The guy I bought it from says it's a JDM GSR. Now, I thought a B18C was a type R motor? Who is right here? I was hoping to have the 8900 rpm redline. Can anyone confirm that is what I have? Or is a JDM GSR the same 8900 redline? HELP PLEASE!! Thanks in advance!

Both are stamped B18C. What do the top of the pistons say if you just picked up the shortblock?
