IAC coolant flow
Hi, i was wondering if it is normal for the idle air control valve on the intake manifold to have coolant flowing through it, on a 93 civic EX ? anything would help.

yea its normal, what did you think someone ghetto rigged up coolant to run through it just for *****?
Since ALLDATA does it best "After the engine starts, the IAC Valve opens for a certain time. The amount of air is increased to raise the idle speed about 150-300 rpm. When the engine coolant temperature is low, the IAC Valve is opened, allowing air to be bypassed to the intake manifold and the Fast Idle Thermo Valve is open and allows air to bypass the throttle plate. The amount of bypassed air is thus controlled in relation to the engine coolant temperature, to obtain the proper fast idle speed."
