Default How well would an ex tranny work on a lx?

My tranny on my 97 accord went bad today. First it started out just popping outta 5th gear, now when its seems to be in N, it starts to pull but then cut off. N e who, is there any diff. in the ex tranny as oppose to the lx tranny. How well would it work of there?
