Best description would be like the Fat Bastard fart at the end of The Spy Who Shagged Me. It does it when sitting still with the engine off. It's from the engine bay, and just does it at random, exact same sound every time, but at different times. Any ideas?

 

Ok. Go to 7-11 and fill up the gas tank. Then pour in 12oz of liquid Maalox or Pepto Bismol (no, the Cherry flavor will not work), and drive the car until it's empty. Car should be fart-free after that.


Anyway, you say this is happening with the engine off? Can you tell where EXACTLY the sound is coming from? My first idea is a ripped boot spitting out axle grease.

Like the part that it's coming from? The evap canister.

 

Wtf, why doesn't my car do this?

 

oh i think i know what you guys are talking about/ my car makes this "farting" noise when i turn it off as well. lol id check under the hood but it usually doesnt last too long
