Since I'm probably buying an EG hatch within the next few days/weeks, I've been calling insurance companies to get quotes, for the hatch, and also a cheaper rate for my sister's EK Si coupe.

Why is insurance so much more expensive on Civics than on any other car? I don't get it.

Yes, a lot of young people drive them. And yes, they don't fare all too well in accidents. But, parts aren't expensive for them to replace in case something happens, and so on.

I think insurance companies are targeting Civics with the highest rates just because there are so many of them on the roads.

hell yah its so expensive these days, i pay 1800 a year just for liabality

 

probably due to the high number of claims that are file d by honda..civic owners.

 

also gotta remember that the accord, civic and integra have been on the top ten list of most stolen cars for a few years now.. i pay 1900 a year for full coverage state minium for my 95 civic ex and had an ok driving record when i got it, it will probably go up a little after a few tickets and losing my liscense this summer..

yea, prob b/c they are very common on the top list of stolen cars.

also depends on how old u are i guess. if ur a male under 25, ur gonna be screwed for insurance anyway, regardless of what car or how good you drive.

having full coverage is great for when anything happens or u get in an accident, but then ur insurance is just gonna shoot up and u'll just pay higher monthly payments

 

hell yeah its sooo fawking expensive out here in ny/nj...i believe the highest if not the highest rates...i paid 600 every 6 months on a civic Ex(my first car) for just liability.

 

everyone is scammin' their cars to get new stuff for their cars...do what you gotta do...but it does affect everyone...

 

My CRX costs me about $520/yr for full coverage, and my Civic (1999 DX) is about $1200/Yr for same coverage.
