Default Nooby Question About CF Hood

Hi, Someone is trying to sell me a CF Hood for $100. Its pretty oxidated. I would like to know is it worth it and how much will it cost approximately for me to restore it. Thanks

If its a good brand, they're $400ish new.

Don't bother having it re-cleared. It will just fade within a year, I would just have it painted.

I take really good care of my car though so i don't really mind having to wax it and all everyday or every week. I just wonder if it'll cost me too much to restore it and would that be worth it. Thanks for your help though

Well since youre stubborn and you want everyone to know you have a mad tyte cf hood, it will be probably around $200 to have it recleared, which you will have to do about once every 1-2 years like I said. So $500 to $1000 over the next 5 years.

Or you could paint it. Function > Form.

Sorry, but carbon fiber hoods don't have much more function than a stock hood. I'm pretty sure most people buy carbon fiber parts for the look, anyways.

OP: If you don't mind reclearing your every two years or so (or whenever it starts to fade), then it seems like a good deal if its an actual name-brand hood like ViS or Seibon. If not, then I would let it pass and buy a brand new carbon fiber hood instead.
