Default Help, Painting Block.

I want to paint my ls block before i assemble it with the head, What kind of paint should i use and are there any cons? And also does anyone have any pictures of their paintblocks? Thanks for the help

high heat engine paint...usually have it at your local auto parts store...tried to find you some pics but came up empty on google images and im to lazy to keep looking lol

Yep, High Temp Engine Paint, there are usually two grades, I think one is 500 degree and the other is 1500 degree? I could be wrong, but the bottomline is if there are two grades, dont cheap out, get the higher one

And spend a good amount of time cleaning your block before you paint it, Hot tank =

Yeah its fully built just outta the hot tank, Its all wrapped up with that surram wrap or how ever you spell it thats why i wanna paint it. I know I was suppose to get high temp paint but I thought there would be better paint than that. Now I just have to figure out what color I want.

I'm trying to find gunmetal engine paint myself. As far as pros of painting the block, depending on the finish, it may make it easier to clean the block if you have any oil leaks, and depending on the color of the paint, it may make it easier to spot leaks.

high heat temp paint. get the highest grade possible./ dont want it to chip

1500 degree silver metallic, cleaned with brake cleaner and engine degreaser:



it turned out FN sick!
(its for sale by the way...)

i recomend getting your **** bead blasted instead of paint. that would look 10x better then paint.

also painting it would rise heat temp. trust me i done it look good but preforms
