Default Just recieved my tranny and.......

So i just picked up a ys1 tranny for my da...... so the guy i bought it from lived in miami....and there is a light layer of sand all through the tranny....what is the best way to clean this...and could this have gotten into gears or anything and screwed anything up? thanks guy

sand?? i would use a parts washer to take out what you can see but you should pull it apart and see if theres sand inside the casing...IMO it isnt looking good for you

it look like theres none in there...like maybe just some on the outside....i just wondered if i could power wash it...i will take some pics to show you guys what i mean....ill post them in a bit

I'm pretty sure you can take it apart and wash it with brake cleaner then lube it back up. At least thats what I would do.
