Default NACvicSi's 99 VSM EK Hatch Build

Just picked up my "new" 99 VSM Ek hatch (7/27/08). I decided to make a build thread and just post as I do things to it. Besides the window tint the car is completely stock. Thanks for looking, and wish me luck.

Possible future plans:
New rear bumper
Carbon fiber hood
Painted black/gunmetal/or blue
Wheels/tires
B swap (Maybe HMT woot)
Suspension
EX power windows
EX door panels
EX power mirrors
Power door locks
Audio system
99-00 Fog/driving lights
Mirrors/trim/side skirts paint matched to body
Front/rear lip

What she looked like as I picked her up:

Ouch. New bumper, here I come:

7/28/08 First things first. This 10 mile high shifter has to go. Will get to the shifter itself later. At least the DC shift **** from my old Sol will cut it down a few inches.

Got a hold of the valve cover today (7/29/08). I wasn't feeling the nasty dull look it had going on. There are a few places I have to touch up, but overall I'm happy with it.

Before:

After:

7/30/08 When I got it the passenger side door handle wouldn't open the door from the outside. Also the window wouldn't roll down all the way. Pulled the door panel off today to find the culprit. Fixed both issues and now they work flawless.

8/1/08 Got the keyless entry wired up and working. On the down side the rod for the door handle popped off again. I think it needs a new clip, bet Honda won't sell me just the clip though

9/8/08 Finally decided to put the hubcaps on. The hideous black steelies just weren't cutting it. Come to find out the goober who had it before me cross threaded 3 of the lug nuts. Two came off, but the stud was trashed and wouldn't go back on. One just snapped clean off.

For that clip, just make one. I use QuckSteel for TONS of things around the house and car. Quicksteel is the same as Mighty Putty and I guess JB weld. The stuff claims to get as hard as steel, but it seems more like concrete. Just put a blob of it on the end of that rod and it will never slip out again. If you ever have to remove the putty, just get a pair pliers and crush it hard. It will eventually crumble and fall right off.

These types of putty have saved my life more than a JILLION times!

Yeah I thought about that, but I will eventually get the car repainted and have the door handles color matched so will remove. A new one is like $24, sure I can find one at a junk yard or on here for like $10.
