Why is my b16a so fuckin slow!!
Ok well heres the deal this motor ran GREAT! 6 motnhs ago then it sat..I get it back and hasnt ran the same..Its so ****** slow! It wont pull into vtec for **** its so so sluggish!!! Its also missin..when i try to take off in 1st it "sometimes" gives the vrooommm*miss miss* vrooom *miss* then take off ...Plugs and wires are new. Seriously can anyone help me out here its not funny how slow this thing is...
6 months you say.. if so try going to the gas station, you're probably still running winter fuel, and try changing your oil and other fluids, its not good to leave a car garaged and not started for a long time
Ive ran 3 tanks of 93 oct...havent changed the oil but hows that gonna make it miss so bad..I havent checked timing but it should be the same sence last time i left it

I hate you
quite possible that one or more of your injectors is gummed up from sitting with fuel in the rail. Try swapping in your old SI injectors if you still have them, or known good ones.
Try your fuel filter. Might have sucked up some crap from sitting. Don't know but worth a shot. Oh and check your filter and/or intake piping for some uninvited critters.
contestant: im gonna go with whats wrong with my car for 500 please.
alex: ok and the answer is clogged injectors or fuel filter.
contestant: what is wrong with my car after 6 months?
alex: that is correct and that was our daily double.

I don't know how all these b16's are slow. My friend put a zc with si tranny into his crx and he ran in the 14's his first run. Only other mods are exh. headers, cold air intake, MSD ignition, and 17 by 7inch rims. So it seems to me b16's are a wast of cash. Unless runing 14's is slow to you guys.
Yea I just sold the b16 and went b18
Im almost done with the swap
Im almost done with the swap
Boost ownz J00 ...And I doubt you would walk one .... Ive seen b16a' sgettin eatin up by b18a1's ....Alot! With just i/h/e on the b18a1 vs. b16a in 1/4 expect the b18a1 to pull about 1 car on a b16 ..
Again, I doubt it. I only have a CAI, running street tires. He had I/H/E and slicks, and he's been driving since he's 14. Basically he pulled about 2-3 cars on me off the line and I walked him down by the end. B18A/B just can't keep up on the top end, and the 1/4 mile is long enough that I catch up by the end.
My mods are as follows:
Eibach "Sportline" Springs
Tokico Gas Shocks (front) (stock rear)
Vibrant front & rear strut tower brace
AEM CAI (for a CRX Si)
JDM B16A
B&M adjustable fuel pressure regulator & B&M fuel pressure gauge
Holley/Walbro 190lph in-tank fuel pump (adapted from an Acura Integra)
Accel 300+ race wires
Carsound catalytic converter (Magnaflow rebadges these, so it's basically a Magnaflow cat)
KVR silver stainless cross-drilled front rotors
KVR Carbon Fibre brake pads
ATE "Super Blue" race brake fluid
Stripped sound deadening (complete interior)
Stripped rear interior (down to the sheetmetal)
Power Door locks & power hatch switch
RAZO RActive sport pedals
Autometer Carbon-Fiber Series air/fuel gauge
Autometer Carbon-Fiber Series electric oil pressure gauge
Hardly what I'd call 'souped-up'. My fuel pressure I've been playing with - currently it's set at 36 psi. My timing is set at 16+2 degrees, ie 2 degrees advanced, running 94 octane (he was running 89 octane and gave me a spiel about how octane is unimportant, so he'd consider that a moot point). Neither of us had our passenger seats in.
Everything else is stock. Stock cams, compression, CRX Si stock exhaust, yadda yadda, it's stock. I'm not the kind of guy to say 'oh yeah it's stock' when it's not. The above list is the full list of mods besides stuff like which speakers I'm using. Personally I think he's done more work to his than I have to mine, but I think my engine's in better shape (ie., he has a minor oil leak near the headgasket). It's a temporary engine he's running while he assembles his B18A/B race motor.
If you're really that curious I can post the timeslip
Ooops, forgot to post the tranny. I'm using a JDM S1 (4.400 final drive, it sucks on the highway
). I cross the traps halfway through 4th gear, which I believe is also one more gearchange than he does, though I'm not sure which tranny he's running.
Ooops again, my website's still behind. My car weighs in at about 1980 lbs without me in it when set up for the track.
