Displacement leads to torque, torque leads to horsepower, and horsepower gets you places quickly.

The H23 is only slower because it doesn't have VTEC. H22's faster because of the hi-cam on the VTEC. That's why you take the larger displacement and take the better head (VTEC) to make "big power".

Yeah but how reliable is the build? Ive seen a few members on this board have their H23 Vtec, crash and bomb after a while.

The added displacement, adds more potential power. Add a higher flowing head and you get more power.

mine crashed and bombed, but ANY motor with 255,000 miles (never rebuilt) redlined on a daily basis, has to expect something to happen with that many miles.. so i spun a main... it would have done it without the H22 head anyway

there is absolutely NOTHING about this build that isn't as reliable as a factory H23 build. The only people with problems are people revving them over 7500 on a regular basis. Which, of course, is a problem on a factory build h23, so it has noting to do with the hybrid'ing of blocks and heads.

The h22 has less displacement due to less stroke if im not mistaken. This allows it to rev higher more reliable. And it has oil squirters yo!
