Mysterious Water Leak

I have a recurring water leak in the interior. There's a small puddle underneath the driver's floor mat and a little damp behind the driver seat. I suspect water is flowing back. Here's the thing, I've only noticed it within the last few weeks when my interior smelled damp. And within the last few weeks it's been raining a good deal. However, it's Hawaii and it has rained prior to the few weeks before the month long drought and never had a problem. I also fixed my AC a few weeks ago anticipating a hot or rainy summer.
Now, I checked my headliner to see if water would be leaking from the windshield seal, and nothing. I checked the firewall to see if rain was going down the wiper shroud finding a hole in the firewall to enter, dry. I checked the carpet near the door, dry. Everywhere is dry except the center of the driver side carpet (and a little damp behind the driver seat). I am perhaps suspecting my AC as the problem as I have heard about a plug being unplug and water leaking in. But I thought it would make the passenger wet since most of the AC stuff is over there.
Any ideas?

Did some searching in the Civic forum and the leak can be caused by the lack of sealant between the fender and firewall. As well as these rubber seals behind the wiper cowl going out too. I'll just have to check those out when I have time. In the meantime, my feet will be swimming. (Ok, it's not that bad)
How do the door seals look? Seat wet at all?
Yes, there is a plug/hole for the AC. If you've been running it A LOT, the condensation could be building up causing the problem. Just experienced the same thing on a friends Passat, only the water/dampness was on the passenger side.

I had the same problem after i washed the R on the saturday. Saw a line of water right under the brake pedal, and onto the plastic part on the carpet. If you figure it out, let us know, ill do the same.

There is a drain tube underneathe the car, under the passenger footwell, I've seen that tube become clogged and leak water into the cabin....check to see if yours is clean.

If it was the AC plug, wouldn't the passenger side be wet (which it isn't)? I probably won't have time to check anything until later next week.

Both sides can be wet.
Both sides can be wet.
my first R leaked in the driver's door seal right at the corner.. it would drip onto the rear carpet and run to the front footwell.. that carpet is pretty thin..
Easiest way to find it: Run it through one of the automatic touchless car washes and watch for where the water comes from.
