Default Argon Regulator Recommendations

I'm a beginner and have a Miller Dynasty 200 and want to start practicing soon but need to get a tank and regulator. Are there certain things to look for? do you guys have recommendations? I'm purely a weekender working on little brackets and exhausts for my motorcycles.

then the cheapies will be fine. I like the flowmeters that have the sightglass with a suspended ball in them though. But I still use the cheap one for personal home use.

I bought a Victor regulator recently that I use on my back purge setup, I'd recommend it good quality unit.

you shouldn't need teflon because the threads don't do the actual sealing, check the tip of your hoses to make sure that the sealing surfaces aren't dented.

Ya that's what I thought but the thing never sealed from out of the box, so I wasn't really sure. I've had it for a long time with different tanks and it would never seal without tape. I guess I'll try a new one and see. Thanks

i mentioned that because i once dropped a hose and dented the tip... never sealed again, did you check the sealing surface on the tank valve?

You mean on the tank or reg? I've had many different argon tanks so those aren't the problem....it's getting the big reg fitting to seal with any tank...It looked ok to me but let me check it again as maybe I did dent it...I never thought really about that. Without the tape I could just tighten it as much as it would go and it would just make a real quiet hiss.

I'll pull it off in the morning...lol damn tape

thanks for the help
