Default Coil spring sitting half way on adjustable sleeve plate: safe?

I have Konis with an adjustable plate. I am currently using H&R 60 mm ( 2 3/8")coil spring. I want to reduce the spring rate and the shop (store) has the Eibach 2.5" coils available on the shelf. I did a test fit on the shocks and the Eibach sits "half way" on the plate (see photo). And when I push the whole coil on one side, it will sit near the edge of the plate. Is this safe for the track? I know 1/8" difference is small but I am afraid that having only half of the coil on a contact patch can damage my plate.

See if you can make an adapter that will fit the OD of the sleeve and the ID of the desired spring. I'm having a similar problem on my upper mount - going to make some spacer/adapters. If they're not sitting on it fully, then they're probably going to rattle around and shift. Since it's taken apart I would fab up a piece that will make everything slip together neatly and be fully seated.

I made that mistake and now my car's out of commission again.

On the left side of the coil is the area of contact on the ajustable ring:

Why not use 2.25" ID ERS springs instead?

I know. Just that the shop had that model on the shelf and the next Time Attack is soon. Don't really feel like waiting a month to get. Anyways, I will be returing those and order the 2.25 ID.

For sure the 2.25" will fit (I mesured the OD of the sleeves). Unfortunately, I am up north (Canada).
