Default minneme swap on d15

Heres the deal. My friend has a 1991 honda civic hb and has had it for a couple years and has had the stock motor in it the whole time. He would like to be faster but everyone and their dog has ls vtec and he wants something different. He would like to put a single cam 1.6 vtec head on his d15. I have heard that a 99 civic ex head would up the compression to 11 1/5 to 1. Does anyone know anymore info on the minnime swap to make it at least faster than a ls swap in a hb.

This is going to be tough. U r down by approx 300cc and the LS motor has dual camshafts wich mean the cams can be adjusted individually to either increase top end or low end by altering valve overlap.

The topic on SOHC minime has been beat. If you really want to stay SOHC, its cheaper to buy a D16 vtec than modify the D15.

you can do a mini me swap.....do a search.....it would be an interesting match. Done correctly, he can beat the ls hybrid. It might come down to drivers
