Default good sounding exhaust?

Everyday we here hondas and cavaliers and other small tuners drive by with LOUD raspy tasteless exhausts. I am sorry but it sounds dumb.

I want a deep throaty sound. i dont want to sound like an idiot. and i dont want an annoyingly loud exhaust with a huge bean can.

I once had an svt focus i threw a 65 mm throttle body on it and it sounded beautiful with no exhaust upgrade. Is this possibly with a honda?

what exhaust would you reccomend for a b16a2? i want it to sound deep and throaty not too loud and not annoying!

ApexI World Sport II FTW. Great sound - never intrusive - and fitment is excellent.

I have a magnaflow exhaust with a 22" magnaflow resonator on my 99 ex and it sounds awesome, deep and low toned, none of that raspy crap is annoying.

I have an Apexi N1 with a cat, its loud as ***** but it isn't raspy. It sounds kinda crappy if I rev higher than 5 and let it wind down without clutching in though.

I got a good one,

you make your exhaust system consist of:

1. a turbo
2. 2.25 straight pipe (catless)
3. and a fartcan (I dont know what else to call them...)

this is the setup I'm running on my b16a3, it's boosted with a t3/t4 .50 trim and it sounds [freak]ing awesome!!!

wierd part is, is that it doesn't sound like a honda at all....as a matter of fact, it doesn't sound like anything I have heard before.....but it sounds good to me and lots of peeps (even domestic owners) have told me it sounds good for a 4 banger.

I'm fairly happy with my setup: EH3 + B18C1; eBay intake tube with AEM filter, DC 4-1 header, Password:JDM Test pipe, then OEM b pipe and muffler. It's quiet if I'm off the gas, but surprisingly throaty at mid-throttle and downright loud at full around redline.

Well what the guys said earlier were all really nice. But it will cost some money. For my case, I was very budgeted. I couldn't afford a branded exhaust system. This is what i did to my car. I have an AEM CAI. 4-2-1 headers. My pipes for the exhaust system is all 2". My primary muffler has a silencer but is still free flowing. My secondary muffer is the original one for my car. All I did was open up the silencer, took off all the plates and divisions, so now my silencer is empty right? what i did was I connected a two inch pipe inside to make it free flowing. To make it not sound loud, I placed fiber glass inside the silencer. It give a REALLY nice deep sound, at the same time, its free flowing.

I don't know if what I said was undertsandable, haha, it could help for people who are budgeted.

Apex'i makes the best sounding exhausts IMO. I have the WS2 and I love it--excellent tone and pretty quiet too. I spent a lot of time with their N1 (the smaller 2.75" tip version) and it was also excellent, but louder.
