I just purchased a 93 lx not too long ago and never actually used the stereo because it has a tape player. I just installed a pionner cd player and the sound only comes on when it wants to . I got the wiring harness from ebay. I rechecked the wire connections 3 times to make sure it wasn't the wires. "Sometimes" when I hit bumps in the road, it'll work but then later it goes away. Whats the deal?

 

check to see if you have a chaffed wire somewere or check to see if your RCA conections r touching metal any were. i know its a tight fit behind the radio with the long *** wires they give you in those kits so it likly something is pinched

 

check all your grounds. sounds like a bad ground problem make sure the ground is hooked up good to the harness or ground it to something metal in the dash. check all the speakers make sure they are bolted in good and not touching extra metal. if your radio is turning off and on when you hit bumps sounds like a bad ground. also check make sure your antenna is plugged in good that is a ground sometimes to.

 

best bet is to keep the car running...pull your headunit out, and play with the rcas...cause chances are they are the cheap ones, and suck *****...try that out
