HeliBars, thoughts, opinions?
I love my 2007 600rr, and I don't see myself getting another bike anytime soon. The majority of my riding time is spent on the super-slab commuting to and from work, with a fair amount of time in the canyons on non-work days. I have always been one for long day trips (300+ miles), and would like to venture into doing more multi-day rides on the bike. Comfort wise, the 600rr is a great bike for a super-sport; but on long rides my wrists start to get a little sore long before any other body parts become an issue. I already practice good riding posture and mechanics, so as to minimize the weight beared by my wrists, but there is only so much you can do when you are traveling down steep grades at slow speeds for upwards of an hour straight (as was the case crossing Sonora Pass the other day).
HeliBArs seem like they would imrpove the ergonomics for longer rides, without completely destroying the bike's handling and sport nature.

Have any of you used HeliBars before? Can you comment on the quality of the product, the riding postion and other factors?

I'd say to get cycle cats hands down, but they apparently went out of business. Their clipons are super nice. They've got a lot of raise, replaceable parts, and are angle adjustable.
So other than that, for the money heli bars are pretty nice.

I've used Heli Bars on my Superhawk and it made a world of difference. The angle before would force my elbows into my sides and put excess pressure on the outside of my wrists. Afterwards, all the pressure and pain went away.
Best $100 (eBay!) I ever spent.
I'd say go ahead a splurge. Since you use it every day, it's something you have to touch all the time.

I remember I used to be worried that changing the bars to non-aggressive comfortable bars would sacrifice performance, but I have not felt that at all on any bike.
My buddy put convertibars on his 954 and they completely changed the riding position of the bike to the point that he's almost upright, but he can still go out and drag pegs in corners.

I used them on my 675 for a few months. The stock clip-on position is unbearable for more than a couple hours. They were a big improvement, I felt the bike handled better at high and low speeds. I would recommend them for a 'more' comfortable ride.
The only drawback was increased vibration but thats nothing bar-end weights couldnt fix.
