Default ECM reset problems.

I'am trying to reset my ECM by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and letting the power drain from the ECM letting it reset. Because when I originally did my Y8 swap I used the Y8 IAC motor and then I went and modified the Y8 by just drilling holes where the Z6 IAC motor goes and used factory bolts and gasket, car runs perfect. But the Engine light stays on because I tripped the ECM when I used the different IAC motor. So now the problem is I need to reset the ECM to clear my codes, and take full affect of the Y8 swap. I have a capacitor hooked up in the trunk for my subs and amp. I didnt install it an audio shop did, I know nothing about installing stereo equipment. Whenever I disconnect the neg.battery terminal the ecm wont reset because the capacitor keeps sending it power. Is there any other way I can reset my ECM SAFELY !! Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, unplug the ECU from the car. Its in the passenger side kickpanel, should be 4 plugs.

Pull the ECU fuse in the engine bay.

But by pulling out the fuse or ecu wouldnt the power from it have to be drained so that it wouldnt damage the ECM ?

What are you talking about?

Just unplug the damn thing for 13 seconds, you won't hurt it by cutting off the power source, the ECU doesnt use volatile memory.
