i have a 96 civic cx hatchback (A.K.A jody lol) and when i let off the gas it makes this clunk soundits not real loud but enough to fill it when i let off the gas. it does not do this when im shiftingi dont know much about cars but im working on it, so if some one could please help me, that would be great

Does it come from the front of your car or the rear?

 

could be a busted motor mount but you would hear that when u give it gas as well.

 

it comes from the front. most of the time when i put it in gear and give it gas. it makes a "clang" sound

this is screaming motor mount...like the rear one.

 

+1 sounds like a bad motor mount. Check around the mounts, its pretty obvious when they're broken.

 

i dont know much about cars like i said before but were would this motor mount be?

 

The motor mount is what hold the motor in the car, its connected to the frame

 

grab the valve cover and push/pull it front to back. It should move a little, but not a lot.

 

also how much is a motor mount?
