so to start this off, it all began when i replaced my transmission. had a difficult time doing that but after all said and done, the car wouldn't start. Makes no sense i know. after replacing everything except the problem, i finally switched out my coil and put my old external coil in the car. that got the car running, but now there is something else wrong. when starting the car the lights are dim in my car and i have to rev it up to 4000 rpm to get it to the normal lighting. just the other day too i was driving down the highway and the car just gave out but it was still running but i couldnt give it any gas. i down shifted and it went back to normal. does anyone know what could cause this problem?

 

My guess is you forgot to put the transmission ground wire back on, or you put it back on but its making poor contact.

 

that was my first thought too so i went through and made sure they all had a nice strong connection

 

check your contacts again - take a wire brush over the areas with the ground strap removed and rebolt it...ur getting low power so if not that battery or alternator.
