Tach is off, can it be run off ecu/S200?
I ran the datalogger on our newly aquired '95 CX (GSR swap) and noticed that when we were hitting 8k rpm on the datalogger, it was registering on the (Si cluster) tach at only ~6500rpm. I'm running a P28/S200... minor bolt ons like Skunk2 manifold, comptech header, exhaust, etc etc
Previous owner said he hooked up an autometer 5" tach and had the same results, if he was running off the blue rpm pickup wire by the driver kick panel (to the left of your left foot on a LHD vehicle) I could understand why that occured since the tach is driven off that wire. I also just don't want a 5" tach cluttering up the dash.
Is there a way to drive the tach directly from the ecu/s200? That's apparently reading out the correct rpm so why isn't the tach?

Have you tried an other OEM Si cluster? Its possible the tach isn't calibrated correctly, maybe a previous owner took the needles off to install aftermarket gauge faces and didn't get them back on exactly right, just a thought.

interesting, we do have another car almost identical to this one that has an si cluster. thanks for the idea
**edit** i'd also like to add that it's not a linear difference. at idle it's only off by about 100rpm, at 3k on the tach its showing 3500 on the ecu, and at 6500 on the tach its at 8200 on the ecu

Re: (tamadrumr88)
I cannot say I have ever seen a gauge give the same reading as the datalogger was giving. mines < 100 at idle, yet about 6k its about 200-300 off.
Ive heard many people say thats just Hondas clusters and to trust what the ecu says. but i dunno
Suscribed, I like to fix this as well. anyone?
Edit: sorry to hear you're using Suedata.
