Default ITR Cam install/Loud ticking sound...HELP

Ok today I dropped in my ITR cams from my Lsvtec motor into my gsr.

Did the TDC.
Got new cam seals
New VC gasket
skunk2 cam gears
itr cams

I dropped in the cams, but the thing I forgot to do, is pre-lube them. Like pour oil into the slots, and over the cams.

bolted everything up and fired her up.

THen I noticed it did a loud ticking sound, like if the valves are loose. So my friend and I went to his shop, and got a scope thing to hear the motor, I turned it on again and it was normal. Then chilled there for while and I left.
When I turned the car on is was a bit cold and it did the ticking sound again, I was like WTF. I didnt do the valve adjusment though, but then my oil light came on once and turned off.

Didn't perform a valve adjustment, that's your first problem.
As for the oil light coming on, did you make sure you installed the o-ring on the center of cam cap 3?

how do I re pump with lifters?

On another note, I took out the cover and poured oil over the rails, just of couriousity. Tomorrow Im doing the valve adjusment, car seems to pull nice, I dont hear the vtec kick as much but its becuase I have a stock ITR air box and arm with a oem filter.

This has been covered many times, you don't want vtec to KICK or SNAP when it engages, that means you have a dip in power, which you probably have if you car isn't tuned.

As you accelerate, guess what, rpms increase, and so your gonna get faster ticking.

OK I got everything settled...seemed like the screws on the cam gears were long and scraping the plastic, also did the valve adjusment and did nothing.

I street tuned my motor and runs strong.

Our motors don't have lifters. We have something known as rocker arms

Repump the lifters? Are you referring to the LMAs? Those either work or they don't.

OP, you always must adjust the valves when you swap cams.
