Default going ls-vtec need a lil help

well im new with all this. but im planning to go ls vtec. b18 block and b16 head. i know i need the ls vtec kit and found it. the b16 head ill be getting brings gsr water and oil pump, timing pump, valve cover, arp headstuds and performance intake manifold and 70mm performance throttle body. i was told just to get the pumps new to be safe. other than all that what else do i need to complete the whold set up? do i need a new ecu if so which one ? and anything else that i might need let me know. apreaciate any help i can get. thanks

You pretty much got everything. The ECU you want to run is probalby a P72 the GSR one.

i would go with hondata if u want just basic get s100 if u wanna dataloggiing and stuff s200 and if u want all kinds of extras that u dont really need for what u want s300

Either do this or get a p30 ecu. The p72 will work, but you don't have IAB's so it will run sub-optimally.

try to get a gsr or b16 ecu, and you should run good. if you're going to run your ls vtec with an ls tranny, try to get a gsr or b16 tranny. the shorter gear ratios will be better with your all motor set up

Also make sure you know someone that can build it correctly and has knowledge about Ls/Vtec builds. If you don't build an Ls/Vtec correctly then it will give you more pain than pleasure.
ECU= P28 ecu chipped if you don't wanna spend money on hondata just yet.


Def. get a b16 tranny!

you dont need Hondata for a simple ls/vtec swap just get a p28 ecu and have it chipped by a reputable shop like one of the HT sponsers.

thanks for all the ecu options and opinions and advice really apreciate it and my car already has a gsr tranny so i should be good to go on that . where would I be able to find the ecu online? or locally or what you guys recommend?
