Is the term "EF" the body code for the civic sedan 88-91?
So, since being a member on this site i've noticed some slangs and other things that sounds like body codes.
Does the term "EF" Specifically refer to the body platform code? Or is it a slang term? I work on Chrysler products for a living (Unfortunately and hopefully for not much longer) and every vehicle has a 2 digit body code. For example the Chrysler 300c is a "LX" platform. So is that what it means? I know this might sound like a stupid question, I'm getting more familiar with Honda's but I've only owned mine for a year. Also, who coined the term "dizzy" for distributor? Sounds kinda silly to me, just curious!
I would appreciate honest answers, and not insulting smart asses. This site is usually good about respecting one another so please keep it pleasant.

I belive ef is the chassis code in japan for 88-91 civic/crx. Somebody correct me if im wrong. And I really hate all the slang and terms people come up with. just call it what it really is.
I agree. The "Dizzy" term makes me laugh everytime I see it. So have you heard it's a Japan code only?
Im pretty sure it is, like i said not 100% sure. Yeah all the slang is alittle crazy. maybe because I've been working on cars for a living for the past ten years, I dont know. I dont call the parts store and ask the if they have a dizzy for a certain car.
Thanks 91Civicsikid, Found out my car's body code is a ED. I tried searching for that answer before I posted but was unsuccessful. Maybe it was my searching methods. That forum answered some other questions too!
Ya, I've been working on cars for a living for the past 5 years and slangs aren't used very much. I'd dare somebody to call a parts store and ask for a dizzy.
