JRSC on a 5th gen..average MPG?
so i'm looking to purchase a jackson racing supercharger on my lude, but i've heard that slapping on a JRSC kills your gas mileage, since it's pretty much boosting the whole time..is this true? to those who have a JRSC'd 5th gen, whats the average gas mileage you guys get?
thanks, and i'd really appreciate it guys. if this question has been answered before, sorry!

Hey, is this the CF dude!? haha!
I've done a significant amount of research on the JRSC since thats the direction im going and the general consensus seems to be that as long as you dont have a heavy foot, your gas mileage shouldn't suffer. The JRSC has a bypass valve so it wont boost while cruising/idling (I'm pretty sure at least...lol) I have a feeling that it will go down a bit though, who buys a supercharger to NOT put the pedal to the metal? haha
Check out the JRSC lexicon on prelude online, there is TONS of great info about the JRSC on there: http://www.preludeonline.com/f...57313/

tiny soapbox time:
your basic 4th or 5th gen Lude with a "spirited" driver will average around 20mpg with a 50/50 city/hwy ratio.
prices for 91 octane around the country average around $4.50/g.
your basic driver averages around 250mi per week.
So....
250mi / 20mpg = 12.5g per week ..... 12.5g X $4.50 = $56.25 per week
let's say the JRSC drops your mileage by 3mpg
250mi / 17mpg = 14.7g per week ..... 14.7g X $4.50 = $66.18 per week
That's less than $10/week, around $40/mo, around $500/yr
You just spent over $3,000 on the JRSC (plus installation, if you don't do it yourself), so who gives a damn? Furthermore, if you're adding power mods to your vehicle, it should be understood that you will probably decrease mileage. If you can't afford $40/mo, spend less money on your cell phone.

bwahahahaha that's fan-freakin'-tastic
What were we talking about again...? Oh yeah! JRSC gas mileage! Back on topic folks! lol
This is mainly speculation but it seems that if you get tuned with a standalone then your gas mileage will increase STOCK. Adding the JRSC may just negate that gain in efficiency and keep it about how it is now. If you just run the JR FMU though, I think you'll get worse mileage because that just pretty much just increases the fuel pressure.
