Default wtf??

ok so a week ago i made the decision to rebuild my motor because there was blue smoke coming out at idle..the car still pulled hard and idled perfect got good mileage, but when i cracked vtec my **** filled up with smoke..anyways i just had my block semi rebuilt with all Honda parts including, rings, bearings, seals and head gasket.. drove it 150 miles not going over 4k rpms. then changed the oil again and drove it for 1,000 miles. i cracked vtec through a tunnel today for the first time since the build... i was kinda happy at the tourque i gained but when i looked back there was a tunnel full of sMOkE! why is my motor still FREKIN SMOKING LIKE S**T!?!?!?

gsr block
b16 head. w/gsr cams

PLEASE help thanks

a certified honda mechanic. worked at a couple speed shops. and honda. he built his dads daily driven 10 second 4 door civic.. im not doubting the work really.. just thinking of what coulda gone wrong? maybe it needs a tune? too much gas? maybe its normal at such low miles after the rebuild. he said sumthin bout the honeing in the sleeves and the ring on the piston that scrapes the oil off the sleeve. but i was kinda drunk and dont member all that

does it smoke when you get on the gas or is it when your decelerating?...also do a compression and leak down test and see what the results are.

Yeah if the head was not rebuilt, you need to go ahead and get some new valve seals put in and have the valves reground. Anytime you do a rebuild on half of the motor the other half usually suffers more than it did before due to the new components in the rebuilt half pounding it to death.

Were the cylinders bored? If the CYlinders are tapered or out of round, new rings won't fix it. Perhaps, he did a partial rebuild. Ask for taper/ out-of-round specs. You might have to bore the cylinders out to get the walls straight and round again, and some oversize pistons. He could of cracked a ring too. We all make mistakes. sounds like he more or less did a "Motor Refresh" than a overhaul. If it was a side job your probably screwed. If you paid a Repair order, I'd take it back to him and get some warranty done.

he told me that all my seals were fresh. being as the head was put on the block like 15,000 miles before we took it apart. im gunna do a compression check tho. ill let u all know what the compression is. man i hope my valves are ok. the smokes like a white color. not so much blue like before the rebuild.

White smoke usually means coolant burning. Although I have seen new oil burn White before.....

its hard to say what your problem is..you really need to do a compression and leakdown test or pull the head to find out whats wrong.
