Default Type R head or jun 3 cams?

I currently have an ls/vtec setup in my eg. Currently the cylinder head im running is a sir2 b16 no head work at all just toda spec A's and portflow springs and retainers.

I am debating on purchasing a complete type r head new from acura or getting Jun 3 cams and springs. I dynoed my car recently and it came in at 190 whp and 140 torque. With the compression i have i think it needs more of a bigger cam but im debating on it because most power comes from the head. I know the type r head isnt the greatest step up from a b16 head because its just ported a little better.

So my question is this what would be the best investment to buy jun 3 cams and valve train or a type r head. If i go towards the type r head im thinking of buying the toda header and scraping my jdm R header. My compression is currently at 12:2:1 and have a jdm type r header.

thanks for the advice

Damn, sounds like a nice set up already, but with that compression, you would probably see a big improvement with the Jun 3's and a dyno session, they're much bigger than the Toda A's. If it was my money, I'd try to make power with the cams and proper tuning

don't toda a's have a better profile than type r's already? if i was you, i'd go with the jun.

I say go toda type b or c . Alot of people at the track seem to like the toda cams over the jun cams . I dont see any reason for you to go with the type r head when you'r head is already like the r head (after port and polish that is.)

no offense but that really is a dumb question. u want big cams that make power or a head that flows a little better. was there any comparison??? i mean if u look at a R head (i have one) it really isnt worth the money to buy one. the "porting" that everyone refers to is just smoothing out the port leading to the valve. when i got mine i was a bit disappointed in what the "porting" actually was.

You can sell your B16 head for $400-$500 and buy a GSR head for the same price, You will increase your compression( not sure what your octane is?) then slap on the Jun 3's that will yield you a nice hp gain. IMO the B18C head ownz the B16
