I have a 95 Integra LS. When accelerating in 1st-3rd I hear a loud gurgling sound. The sound is very faint in 4th and 5th. When sitting at an idle I can hear the sound but when I push my clutch in the sounds disappears completely. I removed the tranny and clutch to see if it was the throwout bearing or clutch. After inspection the throw out bearing seems to be ok is a little ticky. If I spin the main shaft on the tranny I can hear what sounds like something rolling around in the tranny. Like a small bead or bearing ball. Should I just find a replacement tranny or repair the one I have? Any help would be great.

Open up the transmission and replace whichever bearings have execessive noise and/or play. Check the synshro rings for proper clearance, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks for the reply. Is this something easy to do? I have done motor swaps and rebuilt my GSR but never took apart a tranny. To be honest I am a little affraid to tackle this. I will read into it more.... So anyone have an LS tranny for sale??

dam i dont feel bad no more. my transmission recently did the same thing and i jus dropped it today. get a gsr tranny an save yourself money. lol good luck wit the wrench time
It's really not that hard for anybody to do. If I can strip a transmission down, inspect parts, and make a parts list in 30 minutes then any young whipper snapper can do the same in half the time with the right tools.
I've got two that need to be done right now and then a third for the race car. One is a GS-R that's a work in process and the other is a LS transmission that has a chafing noise when I release the pedal in neutral.
It's the cleaning that's the hard part because you have to razorblade and scotch-brite off all the Hondabond on the casing, then run the casing and all of the individual parts through the parts washer. Then wash again with dish soap and hot water and lube each piece just before assembly.

i have rebuilt a trans and its easy if you stay patient and pay attention to how things go back together you input shaft bearing or diff bearings are prob on their way out the hardest part for me was the linkage inside the trans.take it out yourself and get someone else to repair it and you put it back in if you get confused or too frustrated.
