Default knock sensor location

hello, i am trying to replace my knock sensor. i had it checked by someone who knows what they are doing ( i think) and i was told it had gone bad. with that in mind i bought a new one and went to it this morning to replace it. now here is the catch. i think i know where it is on the car. and if im right i bought the wrong one at advance. but just to be sure i wanted to ask.

so is the knock sensor on a jdm obdo b16 located next to the oil filter? kind of behind the alternator? if so i have to run back to advance, if not i have to run back outside. it has one wire and a rubber boot covering the connector and the whole head of the sensor. if it isnt the knock, what is it?

to locate it look at your intake manifold. there should be a spot right in the middle of the manifold where it connects to the block. you should see a 12mm bolt that holds the manifold on, its right below that. pretty much in the middle of the block almost where the head/block meet.

im guessing that you have a b16, well it located under the intake manifold and behind the block and on top of the oil filter but its about 1 to 2 inch below the intake manifold. the ine that is in the pix os the oil pressure sensor.
