Set up: 90 Integra w/97 GSR motor and tranny
obd0 harness, distributor & alternator.

when i finished my swap i accidently mixed the #2 and 3 spark plug wires on the distributor. (had it like that for about 2 weeks)

and it idles just fine..

i than found that picture and double checked my wires. and realized they were wrong and crossed back to the correct way.

and now when i start the car it shoots up to 2k RPM


i just finished the engine swap this week and now im experiencing some technical difficulty..

 

nvm GSR is suppose to idle like dat...

 

how did you wire in your vtec, with obdo car. trying to do it but I cant figure out my problem.

 

a GSR should not idle at 2000 RPM. it should be around 750-800.

 

i called 2 guys who had a stock DC2 and they said when it first warms up its at 2k and when it warms up its alot lower.

i had one too. i thought you meant all the time. mine idles(ed) a little high i suppose. 2000 rpm is pretty high though.

 

cold start 2k is normal, when it warms up it should go down to normal. if not you have a vacuum leak.

 

between 1500 and 2000 at the highest is normal for that motor. with an obd2a p72 it will be around 1500. once it's over a certain temp the idle will drop to 700-800
