Ok I have a lincoln electric 3200hd welder that I am useing as mig. I have never had a problem with it till now. I was welding and all of a sudden no wire was comeing out of the gun, so I opened the door on the welder and the wheel was still half full but unwound, the wire got cut somehow, and the wire that was still in the feed mechanism looked like it was burnt since it was no longer copper color and was now gray. So I cleaned out the old wire, wound up the wire wheel, then went to feed the wire through the gun and with the door still opened I saw the wire was feeding but after a few seconde the wire near the feed mechanism turned cherry red and it split from the reel once again. What could be my problem?
Also im currently filling a few holes in my interior from drilling out the rear seat brackets, im useing a copper piece on the opposite side to help dissipate heat but I am haveing trouble getting the holes closed. They look closed, but once I grind them down I notice there is still a couple very tiny holes that I see light comeing through, so I go to fill them, but then a hole will appear somewhere else after I grind the weld down. It feels like I am not getting anywhere. I tried both cutting very tiny pieces of metal to use as a filling piece and also just tacked around the hole until it was closed. Both methods I get the same results with. Im currently useing the heat level B, and wire speed 2.5-3, I also tried a lower heat (A), but even if I slowed the wire speed, it felt as if the wire would just jump around and not actually make or keep a puddle going. BTW im useing a 75co2 25argon mix.
