Default VSS problem with pic request.

Car is a 98 Accord V6.

Recently my speedometer went out on me and I couldnt figure out why. I thought it might have been the cluster itself so I got a new one and it still doesnt work.

Read in my Chiltons that if the VSS was to go bad itself, there would be tranny shifting issues. No issues so I think I have found the issue.

A few months back, my Navi unit was stolen and it had to be hooked up the VSS wire. I tore my car apart today to find the wire and I did. Only problem is, the morons that installed it were supposed to splice into the VSS wire and they didnt. Instead it looks like the took the VSS wire out of its socket and soldered it to my speed wire from the navi unit. Regardless of the unit missing, the speedo was working til recently.

I looked through my chiltons for the pinout but I cant find it. It's a solid purple wire and its not listed. Can anyone go under their dash a take a pic of the solid purple wire and see where it connects to coming from the ecu(pcm)? Id appreciate it. Driving without no speedo kills me and my mileage has stopped.

The unit was installed by Circuit City guys and the closest one from me is 30 min away so Id rather try to fix it myself. If I cant, I'll resort to taking it back to them to fix.

If anyone knows what else could be the problem please let me know.

TIA,

Vince
