Default ls/vtec help..

hey guys, im buying a ls/vtec engine(B18 block, i think its a B18c head) already been used for about 15k miles, but heres my question, what do i need to make it work correctly, i read other posts and they say you need to connecting rods, some just say you need new connecting rood bolts, so whats the real deal??? and do i get the GSR ECU??(probly a must) and thats it right ??? just wanna make sure before i buy the engine....

Thanks for your help, i didnt find that much threads with LS/vtec in them and i got confused in a few threads....

Im a little confused on your question. Is the motor still running, their is no need for connecting rods or bolts. Sounds like you bought or are thinking about buying a longblock, already converted to ls/vtec right? You can just slap it in if that's the case, chip your ecu and get it tuned.

your confusing me...is the motor blown or something? if you were told by the owner of the motor that it needs rods than stay away from buying it...the only thing that you need to make it work correctly is the ecu...what ecu were you planning on using? i would ask the owner of the motor to sell you his ecu...also what obd is the motor and the car its going into?

If its going into a 98 then I would recommend you getting a obd 2a to obd 1 jumper harness and run a p28 ecu with a Ls/Vtec map.
