Default Coilover options for 5th gens?

Full coilover or sleeves what do you have, do you street drive this car regularly and is it bearable, etc.

I am going to change from eibach springs/ non adjustables struts to something new. I need something a little more ride height and dampening adjustable to be able to make some changes and get my suspension working better.

I am not a daily driver by any means, more like a weekend car. Unfortunately being boosted and on drag radials the boat look eibach sportlines are not helping traction by not keep the weight forward or stopping weight transfer.

Omni no longer makes coilovers for us or I would have gone that route. Suggestions are welcome.

If I do a sleeve coilover I am leaning heavily to the KYB AGX, had previous experience with them and loved them. Alot of good reviews on them as well.

Ive had KYB AGX, with Weapon R (dual spring), Neuspeed, Tein SS, Ground Control.

I too swore by the KYB's, but needed more traction..

I too was sold on the omni's, but couldnt find them anywhere. I came across one place that sold them to me but then couldnt get them. I was told that the demand for our chassis just wasnt there . So I started looking for anything adjustable in that same price range with tophats. True coliovers or strut/spring combos.

Well I came across NEX GT coilovers that were in my price range. I couldnt find too much on them here. Only a FEW bad reviews (mostly by the same person).

While searching outside of H-T I kept getting M3/BMW, G35 boards. I joined a M3 board and started searching... and everything came back positive. so i took it a step further and Pm'd a guy that and asked him how he likes his coilovers and he said he has the M3 and also a Turbo 2JZ SC 300. He had Tein on the M3 and NEX GT's on the Lexus. He liked the GT's so much on his Lex that he sold the Teins to get NEX GT's for the M3. He said best suspension he had ever owned.

I was sold after that ! ha ha !

(Funny bc I bought and HATED the expensive Tein's everyone raved about. I sold them within a month of purchasing.)

If they are running them on their high end cars and love them, I might as well take a gamble and give them a try. Well Im 100% satisfied, and glad i took the gamble

My Accord isnt a track car by any means but i am running 10lbs on a 57 trim (.63ar)

are they adjustable dampening? I think I found that they were 4 way adjustable dampening on the GT sets but wanted to double check your are for sure?

also did they include the spring rates, trying to confirm what I found. 12k front but only 6k rear?

twkd are you solely looking at coilover setups and not sleeveovers?

I saw you said you'd go with AGX - personally I'm a HUGE fan of the sleeveover Ground Controls paired with Koni Yellows. I just recently swapped the springs to a heavier rate on the GC's and have been loving it.

Though if PIC comes out with a full coilover design for the accord I'll be switching to them, the ITR guys love those.

i dont have my mind made up really to be honest since it will be a good week or so before I can buy something different.

i had agx's or tokico's on my old car and now on my dd, never tried konis though. I like the ground controls and tokico blue combo on my daily... although they make a little noise when I go over a bump sometimes.

I dont know which way to go. I hear so much good about both. I wish PIC did make a coilover as well... but 5th gens dont see much love from anyone.

Too stiff

I've got Apexi WS full coils. Been rolling on them for 4 years now and love them. They aren't dampening adjustable but I've never wanted to adjust em. I previously had tokico's/GC and the Apexi setup is far superior IMO.

I'm on Full Coilovers, never went through the whole Shock / Spring trial and errors. I'm on Function and Form Type II coil overs. 2.5"~2.75" drop all around.

What the car looks like dropped:

be careful what you buy... dont want something like this happening

holy chit meng... thats definately not what I want from coilovers... those are D2's in the picture. WOW, heard bad things about them but thats crazy.

your car looks good btw. not so worried about the look as I am the performance... you like them as far as that aspect goes as well?

I just want to point out, that the only reason that shock is bent like that is because the car was in an accident. Also, that is not an accord shock, as it has an adjustable camber plate on top, and MacPhearson style strut.

Tisk Tisk Jimmy, I thought you would know better then to post this stuff.

I wonder how many more guys from TAC are on here?
