Default PLEASE HELP!! I THINK I NEED A NEW MOTOR :(

so i have a cold air intake thats pretty low to the ground. im driving home with my fiance and i ran through puddle. as soon as we were halfway through the car died and i slowly rolled my car to the breakdown lane. i tried to start it but it wouldnt turn over unless i pumped the gas repeadetly and as soon my foot came off the gas it died.

my check engine light isnt on so that makes me feel a little better. but my battery and oil light is on i dont understand? i just changed my oil not even 4 days ago and i just put a new battery in like 2 days ago.

well as i was trying to start it back up a cop came up behind me with his lights on and everything and was trying to help me out. when i try to start it up now it makes loud clunking and thumping and scraping noises and the cop had the hood open and said its coming from inside my motor.

it was raining hard and i did run through that large puddle (on the side where my cold air is sticking out) but my engine bay is BONE DRY not even one drop of water in the bay. the cop was like "uh oh...my jeep made this same exact noise...i think your valves pistons and rods are f*cked"

whats going on please i need insight im tearing my hair out

my F23A1 has 247,000 miles on it and i dont know when the last time the TB was changed out. BUT WOULD THE CAR TURN OVER IF THE TB HAS SNAPPED?

I don't see why everyone continues to try to start the car after it's obvious what happened.

You've [freak]ed the motor.

Since you don't know what you're doing take it to a shop and have them assess the damage.

Hey peeweezy.....may be the cop mistook the sound comming out of your cai for blown pistons......you can try by letting the motor rest for some time and again crank it......if it does not, then remove the spark plugs, use compressed air to remove any water left in the cylinders and also wipe the spark plugs dry with a cloth.now try to start it again and all the best.

The money you spent on the civic could have went to the accord. Sucks dude.

It is not only a shield you need. You need a Air Bypass valve. I do not understand why people install CIA without air bypass valve. I guess if you have another car to drive when it rains, or if it never rains much where you live, then you will be fine, but if you are driving in rain, it will hydro lock when you go in deep enough water.

Ok this is what you do its worth a shot. pull out spark plug wires and plugs disconnect dizzy connector. then get inside car and crank for total of 5 seconds observe from inside car all the water and small amount of fuel that shoots out. do this 2 times and you will be ok. but in ur case since you tried again and again to start you may have already caused damage. this method has been used many times when i was hard headed and didnt want to buy a damn bypass valve. To this day i stop and help other hondas when it rains and they encounter water sucked up by the CAI. Gets the job done
Ima bad writer so please forgive me

Guess you didn't read there was a hole in his block? It's not really worth a shot when there's a hole

For future reference it could help - it's also not only Hondas that have the dilemma

Yea dude go to junkyard and see if you can buy the motor and just swap the same one in. This may be a sign. Maybe God is telling you it's time to swap to an H22 motor.

There is no sign if you see a bus coming down the road and run in front of it and get hit. People who have CIA just need to install a dang Air Bypass Valve on it, or know the risk they are in for if they walk into a ***** house.

Please just stop posting in the thread.

His motor is broken, he soaked up water, he had a CAI.

Bypass valve (filter coupler) is the fix.

The End
