Can anybody get me new syncros for my b16a tranny. I have a Y1 and I am in need of new syncros badly. Or if anyone got info on where to get them.. thanks

 

I had the same problem when i had my Y1. My third gear syncro was bad so i wanted to replace it but then i heard you cant rebuild them with any USDM transmission parts and i guess theyre pretty hard to get from Japan. Thats just what i heard. I was going to swap it out for an LS but never got to it, I got rid of the car. Good luck!

 

oh **** that sucks... looks like im gonna have to look for a new Tranny.. damnmmit.

 

Thats the only bad thing about Y1's. I was weighing my options of what to do about a transmission and i didnt want to buy anotther Y1 because what if the next one i got was messed up too. The reason i considered an ls was because theyre fairly cheap(compared to a y1), they can be rebuilt with no problem becuase of the availability of parts and ls trannys, and I was gonna run it on my B20vtec setup and that motor could have easily made power all the way through the gears. You never know you might be able to find a good Y1, I just didnt want to chance getting one with bad syncros like the one that came with my swap.

 

i have the same problem with my S1 also. i wish there was a better solution
