Best Transmission to Use, Del Sol EV Conversion
Perhaps one of you Guru's know this off the top of your head. I wish to convert a 95 Del Sol to Electric. The Del Sol has front end damage and is stripped of all front suspension and drive train. It is an AT car. I will need to install a MT and would like to know which trans would be best in regards to being robust (strongest) easy to tune (change gears) etc. I would like to be able to just drop in using OEM mounting, linkage, axles as if going in behind a OE engine. I am new and do not yet understand the series b, d etc. designations so a reply of (95- 00 Civic 1.5L) would help. Also is there a manual steering rack that will bolt up. I am not sure about the gutting a power rack to make it a manual is the right way to go. Last question is the 93 Civic front suspension / clip the same or usable. I have a parts car. Thanks for you help.
While I know that all I need is a drive box. That would add $2000.00 to the conversion. Plus the extra machine work. A direct drive box also does not allow for the option of gear selection. My question was "Which Honda tranny will bolt in as factory and is the strongest"
