ac install in 92 eg and it wont engage clutch

thermoshuttoff switch problem with ac on 92 eg hatch
i have a 92 eg dx with d16z6
automatic.
in bought an ac setup and installed and charged it properly. the thermo shutoff switch has three prongs under the dash, but on the underdash car harness is a two prong plug. if i cross the wires on the two prong plug the ac works fine. how do i hook up the two prong plug to the three prong jack on the thermoshutoff switch.
