Thinking about buying a 2008 Honda Civic Si
Ok, so this is my first post. I'm looking into getting a 2008 Honda Civic Si. I would more than likely go with the 2-door. So I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback if you have one, or any pros/cons. Also, when do the 2009 models come out? Is it worth waiting for that to happen so the 2008's drop in price? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
cons:
-paint chips easily
-interior scuffs easily
-gasoline guage does not seem very accurate
-interior rattles in a few places (can be fixed)
those are minor annoyances to me, which are all outweighed since the si coupe is so fun to drive.
i believe the 09s should be at the dealers by september.
it may not be worth waiting if you're set on the exact body styling or coloring of the current civic. according to some rumors, 09 civics will have minor exterior changes, discontinue some colors and offer some new ones (Nighthawk Black -> Crystal Black Pearl, Fiji Blue -> Dyno Blue Pearl, Galaxy Gray -> Polished Metal Metallic and Habanero Red -> Redline Orange Pearl). also, finding a coupe was more difficult for me than finding a sedan. once the 09s come out, it may be even harder to get your hands on an 08 si coupe.

Excellent info innate, thanks!
How about reliability? As I understand it Honda is very reliable right. I have an Audi now and it's fun to drive but it's so unreliable it's ridiculous.
Are the sedan and the coupe the exact same except for the 2 door/4 door difference? And are they changing the body style dramatically for the 09 models?
Sorry for all these n00b questions, gotta start somewhere right?

I bought my first Honda in September '06, an EX sedan, because I travel about a 100K a year and I wanted the high mileage in something other than an "econo-box". When I traded it in on an '07 Si last July it had 67,000 on it and had never had a wrench on it other than scheduled maintenance. The Si only gets driven to & from the track (I have a company car now) and has 7,500 on it now, mostly at very high speeds. I do not have a single complaint, it is a riot to drive and with the HFP suspension and brakes makes a pretty fair track car. I like the sedan because it is a bit larger and handles better than the coupe but to each his own (keep in mind that I'm also in the over 50 group). I'd say, don't delay, go get a new Si and start having fun!
i have had mine since they first came out in 06. no issues besides my visor breaking... replaced within 5 minutes of me pulling in the dealership.
i got an 06, great car. Fun to drive.
only thing you gotta worry about is the freaking 3rd gear problem. but other than that, great fun car.

I'll go ahead and let you know that the prices on any Civic will not be going down any time soon because of the market we're in. If you find one you want, there is no sense in waiting. Just buy it.
the sedan and coupe are very similar, but have some slight differences like curb weight and vehicle dimensions. i didn't notice most of the differences while driving each except that the sedan had better visability from smaller blind spots.
honda will most likely not change the body style drastically. some previous generations of civics have received minor visual changes to grilles, headlights, tail lights, and bumpers about midway through their generations. to give you an idea, here's an example of some minor changes that happened to the 6th generation civics:
