Default AEM conversion question...please help

I had a 95 ex coupe till i wrecked it (RIP), i had an AEM cold air installed on it. I took it off before they hauled it off. Now i have a 97 ex coupe, fitment looks about exactly the same from the manifold to wheel well, but my question is, there is an extra sensor on the 97 factory intake. Can i just drill a hole in the AEM pipe and drop the sensor in? Or is there a better way of doing this? Thanks.

It's not an "extra" sensor. It's the intake air temperature. On OBD-I engines it appeared in the manifold, but was moved further upstream in the airflow to give PRE throttle body air temperature.

You can drill for this sensor, but you will need a grommet to put in the hole so it won't leak.

I cannot say for sure that the fitment will be correct, but you can probably make it work.

Drill the hole, I have an AEM CAI from my old '98 EX on my '95 DX hatch right now and it has the hole for the sensor(I had to tape it off on the '95 for lack of that sensor). so if you need to know the size of the hole to drill let me know and i'll measure it for you.
