quick Vtec question....

Default quick Vtec question....

i have a b16 head wit a b18 block vtec isnt wired up and i have a pr4 ecu so could i use that ecu to hook up the vtec or do i need a new ecu like pr3 or somethign else or could i just hook it up with a vtec controller??? also would i have to intsall another o2 sensor i have one on my header right now but would i put another on my cat?? as you can tell im a bit newbish

if its obd1 than run a chipped p28...and as far as the 02, only obd2 uses 2 sensors so if the motor and car is before 95 than no

yeah its a 90 crx... and its a b18a with a b16 head not sure what year the head is from i bought the car already swapped so i was wondering if i could hook up vtec with the pr4 ecu which is off a 90 integra ls i believe but i thought i could hook up my vtec through a vtec controller and wouldnt have to get a new ecu or would i have to get a new ecu and if so what ecu would i use???

If you're running a PR4, you're OBD0, you should get a PR3 but it would require you to get another o2 sensor as you know, PR3 is the only OBD0 ECU that requires 2 o2 sensors as far as i know.

IMO you should stay away from vtec controllers or RPM switches like MSD, just go OEM and get a VTEC ECU.

so with a pr3 everything would be plug and play then i just wire vtec up my self

Depends on your definition of plug and play
You will need to wire up the VTEC your self, and get another o2 sensor, i think its one before and one after the cat.

And all this is assuming the vtec in routed externally... it is... isn't it?
Can you post a pic of your engine bay?

would everything be plug and play besides the vtec i mean can i just plug the harness in as is and wire up the 2nd o2 and the vtec ill get some pics up
