Default crank sensor question

obd2a gsr swap in a 00 civic coupe.... if using a obd1 p72 ecu do you even have to plug in the crank sensor plug?

i would assume no since i've put obd2 motors in obd1 cars and didn't have them plugged in

what else will i need to have to finish the swap...

i know i need the rear bracket and driver mount from the 99-00 SI , but what all wires need to be rewired/made longer to do this... i'm also just going to bypass the butterflys to stay open.... so no wiring needed to get them working...
