D16Y7 INTO A 90 EF HATCH HELP!!!!
I just picked up an EF hatch with dpfi....im going to be doing the mpfi coversion and i have a d16y7 with 49,000 miles on it.... i want to go obd-1
what obd-1 dizzy blots up to the y7 head?????
can i run a p-28 ecu?
Ive done alot of work on b series and im just now picking up of what matches with what or what can match with what on D series..... im just looking for some guidence from some guys that thrive on D's.......
List of what i have and if i can use
the stock d series EF drive train with the 4-speed
p28 ecu
obd-1 engine harness
obd-2 engine harness
d16z6 intake manifold and throttle body on my y7 head
obd-1 injectors
obd-2 injectors
resistor box
d16z6 dizzy
just asking for some help and guidence.....

I put a y7 in my 91 Si and i just kept the a6 intake manifold, wireing herness and pm6 ecu... runs perfect... i dont see any need to convert to obd1 unless you where going vtec or turbo...
^^ What he said, but if you insist on going obd1 you will need a 4wire o2 sensor, d15b7 distributor, P06 ecu or LS ecu, obd1 injector plugs
If your wanting to get a little extra power and dont want to convert to obd1 just run a PG7(88-89) teg or PR4(90-91) teg ecu, both of which have better fuel maps and redlines then a stock pm6 (88-91) si ecu.
If your going obd1 you wont need that resistor box. BTW that 4speed is going to suck ***** with a y7, if its all you have and or can afford then stick with it, but if you can upgrade go with an SI tranny

yeah you will have to get Si or DA knuckles... but no matter what you are doing with the car that 4 speed is gona suck... even with boost... so i recomend do it...
oke if ur useing a 96 and up motor and ur useing a y8 head u can use a 96 dx or lx dizzy eney 1.5 dizzy will line up good not like the z6 dixxy where only 1 screw lines up
o also dont for get the obd1 alternator because the obd2 one has 3 wires not 4 so it runs diffrent because of the ELD so a obd1 dizzy will work find line up good to

I'd recomend staying under 7... unless you can dyno tune of coarse...

or better yet... use an obd0 alternator if you want to save your self some wireing... just make sure you get an alternator belt for a d16a6... it will be a little tight but it works...

as long as its a manual ecu it will work fine an yeah the ecu clips will plug right in. also, I used the d16a6 dizzy on my y7 and bolted up like butter

Hey when you did this swap how did you wire up the iacv cause I'm having trouble with my iacv it bounches between 1800 and 2100 cause I'm throwing code 14 and I have no vac leaks
