Impossible? I have seen people DIY Black housing on Civics, so why impossible for Accords? No Flaming, just wondering.

If your referring to headlights like the JDM SIR style, you can DIY your oem headlights to look the same though it is a bit of work, more than I thought it was going to be. I dont have a DIY but I can explain and posibly provide a after picture. I personally did mine because I cant afford real JDM Stanley's right now and didnt want to buy cheap ebay aftermarket ones (had bad experiences before with fogging and bad beam pattern). First you need to remove the headlight assembly's which is most of the work for the DIY, there is several bolts on the assembly and you must remove the front bumper to get it out. Once out you remove the 4 metal clasps keeping the headlight together, they really dont though. the headlight is held together by a thick glue/adhesive that gets sticky and thin when heated, you can do this by either a heatgun or buy putting the assembly in the oven. I personally used the oven method which worked great, set the oven at 210 F and put the assembly on a cookie sheet for 10 min, take out and you can slowy pry apart with 2 flat blade screw drivers. once apart you mask off the center area of of chrome reflector( over mask and use a razor blade to cut to the shape of the reflector, there is a indentation surrounding the area that needs to be masked). clean chrome area to be painted, I scuffed mine with a green pad. Painted with Duplicolor high temp engine enamel, I used semi-gloss black or you can low-gloss black. I used about 3 or 4 coats and let dry a couple hours. For reassembly put both peices back in the oven(clear lens and assembly, only work on one assembly at a time) remove and press back together. I put it the whole assembly back in the oven to let it seat where it should. remove from oven and before pressing all the way together I used some silcone sealant in the little gap and then pressed all the way together and reinstall the metal clips which will keep it together while it dries. reinstall headlights, do the same to corners or by jdm ones...
good luck its some work but if you have some time and no money for JDM stanleys do it, Im all about the saying "built not bought"

I'm referring to that since the Accord FAQ very clearly has a

i was reading about how you gave the kid directions on how to black the housing of the headlight. i got all that. but when you put the headlight back in the oven, how long and what temp are you supposed to use? is it supposed to make the glue sticky again so then you can glue it back together?
