CRX "blox" lca's vs oem and other brands (sarched)
Im about to fix my rear LCA's since they have a bolt busted on them. I can pick up a set of Blox lca's for 109shipped from http://www.weaksauceparts.com/store/cart.php
I have been researching and people over on h-t say that the bushings in these are weak. Anyone ever ran these and can speak from expierence?
I know there are other brands such as Skunk2, Function 7 have you ever ran one of these brands?
The function 7's from what i'm seeing seem to be on backorder so I dont know if the wait is really worth it on these or not.

do not get blox... a buddy of mine has them on his EG and bushings are TOAST after about 10,000 miles... if you wana keep the prices down... megan racing's bushings seem to be a bit better then blox. if not get skunk2 of Funtion7 (whenever they are back in stock like you said)... As far as I know, Function7 is the best LCA out there... their bushings are actually made by Energy Suspension...
Or just buy lower control arms from honda.
By buying aftermarket you are only saving a minuimal weight (and making yor car look like it has some decent suspension) but downgrading a bit in quality from factory stuff (unless your going spherical or function7). Oem ones will last you another 100K miles and are close to the same price as blox.
Plus they fit correctly.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/10774352@N02/2623155519/I've had blox for about 2 yrs. They make your car feel like it has a lower center of gravity and it's wider. I like them, they lasted me. I think there's an order you need to know when you install them.
I think blox and skunk2 are made at the same factory or something.
Get 'em you won't be disapointed, just get the black ones, they look better

i was looking at OEM arms and you have to buy the bushings seperate. Anyone know a place that has the Function 7's in stock. How are the Skunk 2 units? I can get them for a good price
Ok so I found omni's for 109 as well, but they only list them for 92-95 civic, but every other company list 89-95 as the same. Is there in fact a difference?

Did anyone else read this and wonder how anyone could say that? How does a lower control arm give a car a lower center of gravity? how would a lower control arm make the car feel wider, unless the control arm was intentionally longer, which would actually give the car more negative camber which those arms certainly do not.
Companies make the arms either factory length and they are 100% bling bling, or they make them shorter to try and correct rear negative camber, which narrows the track in the rear. BTW shorter rear LCAs usuaully screw up geometry to where you must also buy upper "fast arms" type adjustable upper rear arms, and also SPC toe link kits because you can't even get the toe sliders to come close to zero after messing with the camber so badly.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but that was just absurd IMO. It's called the placebo affect - meaning the mod literally did nothing to improve handling/drivability, but the owner perceived that it did. Maybe to justify the purchase other than bling bling looks?

dont do the blox....i have them and it was a waste of money the bushings gave out in a week. I would go with the king motorsports lcas with the spherical bushings in it!
I always felt that MFactory had the best set.

OEM works great for me.
buy those low cost (cheap) LCA, and worry about the bushings failing within a year. instead of a decade or two like OEM.
replacing the one bushing would be the cheapest solution too.

Got mine for $175 shipped.
Doesnt do much for the car but looks good from the rear.

I'm actually just running stock right now with energy suspension polyurethane bushings. If I was going to buy some I would do the mfactory...I'm not rich though and they really don't make much if any difference.
Yeah well I just got to looking at my car and the rear driver side tire is sitting cockeyed, from back to front the rim goes inward. Plus we broke a bolt trying to take them off to put the new struts springs in so I am just going to buy new ones.
What makes Function 7's so much better then say the Skunk 2's? I just found function 7's for 230shipped, but i can get skunk 2's for 50bucks less.

they are the originators and did the actual engineering, developing and testing. everything else is a hack copy that doesnt perform as well because you cant just "copy" something and expect it to perform as well.
if its just $50 difference, then skunk2's are WAY overpriced... lol.

let me put in one more way.
function7 is for racers.
skunk2 (and all others) are for ricers.
personally, i think you should buy the skunk2's.
