Default help me answer this question plz?

i recently repaired my exhaust leak at a local shop and this guy told me that the last owner swapped a vtec head cause hx's dont come stock with vtec. so im wondering if he's right.... so do hx's come with vtec or no? i have a 97 civic coupe by the way

should be e-Vtec stock. being the more fuel efficient version of the vtec engine

Your motor has VTEC-e. The "e" stands for economy.

Your VTEC will engage at a much lower rpm than other VTEC motors. During low rpm, each cylinder, only one of your two intake valves will open. When this happens the air that is being pulled into your cylinder will create a swirl in your cylinder; this is what gives you the better fuel economy.
