Default Twin Turbo Vs Single

Im am building a LSVTEC engine and i want to turbo it! I would like bosst at low RPMs as well as high! I would think a twin turbo setup would do this! But im sure theres some disadvantages to this setup! The engine will be fully built and i would like 500+whp. Any info would be great thanx!

Lol.

TT setups are useless on Hondas. They're more potent on higher displacement V style engines.

You have two choices. Put a small turbo on it and get fast spool with no top end, or put a larger turbo on it and spool a little later with a nice top end. If you spend money on a good BB turbo you can have a fastER spool with good top end.

But I think you need to read, a lot, more.

Twin turbo's on a b-series, not sure if someone has done it successfully. But I'm sure it's a tough build, IF it is possible to do. I can already see fitment issues(turbo, manifold, dp, dt), especially since you'd be using quite big of a turbo for your power goals. Definitely a custom manifold, dp, etc. And talk about extremely pricey for that very custom setup.

What's your budget anyway? And goals, beside hp? With the $ and time spent trying to build and/or construct a twin turbo setup. Your best off going with a single turbo setup for much cheaper. Plenty of people on HT and other places, are successfully running over 500+whp with a large single turbo setup. I would assume any turbo from GT30 and up, will get you to your goals of 500+whp with supporting mods. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is only my assumption.

Stupid idea, use 1 turbo on your Honda.

Ok. I havnt seen a TT setup on a honda so i figured there was some downside! I see now that it would cost way to much and there wouldnt be that much of an increase in power if any. I will do lots more reaserch on this topic but it looks like im stuck with a big turbo that spools around 6000 RPM! Thank you very much for the info!

TT setups have been done, but they are no more effective or effecient than a single turbo setup. So u should do a TT, one T25 and the other a T88, that way u have low end and top end...heh jokin

Uh, how much power are you looking for?!

If you're not looking for 700+ there's no reason your turbo should spool that late.

And to think I paid to get my Rx7 converted from twin to single turbo setup!!! It was fun, but the sequential setup was too much to maintain and boost problems every now and then let alone the silly number of vacuum lines it was running. Now spools fully on a GT40 turbo around 4700 RPM compared to the 3000RPM before but much happeir with power all way to the red line.

Stick to a single turbo setup, belive me

Rotary motors spool turbos much faster than piston engines. You can benefit greatly from a twin turbo setup on the street with these engines. Unless all that you want to do is go in a straight line.

The problem with inline 4's is that they can't push enough mass through the turbo at lower rpms fast enough to make a tt setup worth while on the lower rpm band.
