Default A supposed fix to throttle respose for our car! Sprint Booster

I was wondering if anyone was running this in there fg2 or fa it is supposed to fix throttle lag on drive by wire applications. The company is from Athens Greece and it looks pretty sweet. My dealer ship was @ Waterfest in E-town this weeked and there was a company called http://www.jpronline.com and they were letting people put these in there cars and drive them around and the guy told us that its a night and day difference, yet these were volkswagens they were putting them in but they say it really works. Check out there website its http://www.sprintboostersales.com/index.htm

for 330, its not worth it. it wont pay for itself over time. i would rather buy a new injen cai. i think if your gonna spend that much money, it should make the car more enjoyable to drive. the throttle lag isnt bad at all. just get a tb spacer or let go of the gas before you shift.

Weren't there already a couple threads about people who had put on the P2R Throttle Body Spacer and saying THAT helped significantly with the throttle response??

Seems like a much more reasonable buy for a third of the price.

So how would the car being more responsive when u hit the gas not be more enjoyable? that doesnt make sense... how bout u all do some reasearch on something before u decide to say what is or is not worth it

Nope not running one, Done a ton of research on it though.. scaned other forums also BMW and other DBW cars rave about these things.. And there was a guy on 8thcivic that tested it for a dealer in MD since it was a new part and not well heard of in the civic market... its been proven to work hands down and be worth the money... I'm not a fan boy of anything.. i put in the time and research to get the facts on something before i back it...

I can tell you that the 8lb flywheel I have recently installed helped in a huge way, both with throttle response and what little revhang there was.

Some say 8lbs is too light. All I have to say is, not on this car.

This is a bit back from the dead but I thought some of you would like to see this...

This is a simple Racepak log of the Sprint booster in a Honda fit.

Racepak is a popular automotive datalogging system.

The upper lines in the graph are "G" (g-force) and the lower two are MPH....

In the top of the graph you can see the logs of lateral “g” force - g force vs time. Now to save argument, the G meter, and any other log taken on the G2X Racepak system, cannot be altered to favor the readings of one graph to another. The Racepak will only ever start reading at 5mph+ . So the Sprint Booster installed shows the same start point as the non Sprint Booster equipped test/log. This log was a duration of almost 7 seconds. The lower part of the graph shows the ramp of speed/acceleration vs time. Again, logged from the start of 5mph. To get more elaborate, with the same hardware and software, you could overlay this on a route you took say around the track or city street, all done by GPS. The difference in data would be amplified more with the use of a manual trans.

The Racepak G2X datalog system in this case was in the car and operating as a standalone data-logger . It is not tied into any OEM equipment or sensors of the car. You can take it from car to car in a matter of seconds… It only requires an antenna to sit on the roof to monitor GPS co-ordinates. A g-meter sits in the brain of the Racepak.

Each line in red hue shows data of the sprint booster installed, showing the differences in speed and impact of acceleration over the stock non sprint booster equipped car noted by green hue.

The graph shows each value taken vs time in seconds. In this graph the Sprint Booster made the car react faster. Hence a shorter time to get to "x"mph and a shorter time from initiating throttle to feeling the lateral g-force of the car (impact of acceleration).

I'm not stating the car accelerates faster or makes the TB open faster. The SB decreases the time it takes from you pressing the pedal and the car reacting, regardless of your position of the pedal/TB.

The log supports the main purpose of the SB, to cure the lag in the time it takes to get the car to react to pedal movement

I'm not familiar with enhancement modifications to DBW but the upgrade appears to modify the voltage setting to trick the system to apply more gas at lower throttle. Essentially, you're increasing the voltage to simulate 3/4 throttle even though you're at 1/2. Is that how it's normally done? If such was the case, Honda could have released an ECU bulletin upgrade to modify the voltage settings themselves.

I'm not sure how this will improve throttle control precision.

32.99 maybe, but for 330 bucks, I can live with it with no problem.

Have one on my car. Makes a big difference in response to throttle input and made the car a lot easier to launch. Brought down my 60 fts. a whole tenth at the track and 2 tenths up top. No more bogging like a lot of the Si's do at the track.
